Glass Blowing Instructor

SiNaCa Studios is looking for a Glass Blowing Instructor to join our team that is passionate about sharing the glass creating process.

A decade plus long anchor of the arts landscape in the Near Southside cultural district of Fort Worth TX, SiNaCa Studios School of Glass and Gallery is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that continues to elevate the art of glass, employ talented glass artists, teach the art and science of glass, and empower individuals and community through creativity and art.

Hours

  • This part time position is 8-15 hours a week.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends is critical.
  • Paid time off is available if minimum hours worked are met.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years glass blowing experience.

    Compensation

    •  Health and dental benefits are available to full time employees.
    • Compensation is $15 per hour for training during the first month of employment. After successfully completing training compensation will increase to $20 per hour.

    Major responsibilities:

    • Effectively verbalize and safely demonstrate specific studio techniques to engage students and achieve the desired result.

    • Instruct students on the proper use of tools and equipment, ensuring safety is emphasized in every class.

    • Arrive for all shifts on time and follow all expectations as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Handbook.

    • Assist with class preparation, studio setup, strike, and clean-up.

    • Support finishing work (gluing, assembling, cold working) and packaging of completed class pieces.

    • Attend and participate in periodic Curriculum Staff meetings focused on techniques, curriculum, scheduling, and events.

    • Maintain a safe teaching environment by ensuring proper use of equipment by self and students, and promptly report any unsafe conditions to the Studio Manager.
