About SiNaCa Residency:

The journey to my SiNaCa residency all began with a class Gift Voucher for a class. Their bead class sparked an interest in making glass eyes for my animals. I continued to practice during a residency at Breck Create last summer, and spent as much time as I could sculpting eyes in SiNaCa’s flame room. After many years of focusing on plastic waste, I couldn’t ignore all the other kinds of trash waiting to be reborn. I now include post consumer textile, construction materials, and paper in my work. In the last 8 weeks, I’ve only begun to scratch the surface about recycling glass, but I will continue to explore and experiment with industrial and thrifted glass for future projects and outdoor installations.

I am so grateful to the staff and educators at SiNaCa for lighting a fire!
