Bonsai by SiNaCa Team Collaboration

Nature illuminated, crafted in flame.

Retail Value $1,100

Dimensions 11″ H x 14″ W x 5″ D

Created during a live demonstration at SiNaCa Studios’ August 2023 Open Studios, Bonsai was inspired by nature and designed to captivate. This flame worked glass bonsai tree blends traditional aesthetics with modern technique. The trunk was formed by layering colors over clear glass, then shaped and textured using a large flame to mimic the look of bark. UV-reactive transparent colors were applied to the surface and leaves, allowing the piece to glow under hidden UV lighting embedded in the shadowbox.

Crafted with glow-in-the-dark pigment and set against a backdrop of Japanese text, the tree is surrounded by pink glowing stones and bathed in purple UV light—creating a striking display that transforms from day to night.
